AJAY DEVGN’S JUNGLE ADVENTURE FILM RANGER HAS BEEN DELAYED BY SIX MONTHS DUE TO BUDGET ISSUES AND CHALLENGES IN SECURING FUNDING FROM DIGITAL PLATFORMS.
Ajay Devgn’s highly anticipated jungle adventure film, Ranger, has hit a financial roadblock. The movie, helmed by Mission Mangal director Jagan Shakti and produced by Luv Ranjan, was set to begin filming in December 2024. However, the project has now been delayed by at least six months due to budget constraints.
Ajay Devgn’s Ranger Delayed Due To Budget Issues
A source close to the production revealed that the film’s high production costs and current market challenges are the main reasons for the delay.
“Ranger is a big-budget jungle adventure, but due to the not-so-good market scenario for feature films at the moment, the film is not getting the required money from satellite and digital players. This is putting a huge risk on the producer, Luv Ranjan, pushing him to get back at the drawing table again to rework on the budgets,” the insider shared with Bollywood Hungama.
Ajay Devgn has reportedly been using his industry connections to secure better deals with digital platforms. However, negotiations have yet to yield the desired results.
Streaming platforms are currently cautious about spending, as the market undergoes a course correction after years of inflated deals. “Most of the films were overvalued by digital players, and it’s now the time for market course correction. Ranger is one of the many casualties of this scenario,” the source added.
Ajay Is Currently Busy Shooting De De Pyaar De 2
While Ranger faces delays, Ajay is keeping busy with other projects. He will now focus on completing the shoot for De De Pyaar De 2, the sequel to his 2019 rom-com hit. After that, he is expected to start working on Dhamaal 4.
Meanwhile, Ajay’s recent release Singham Again with Rohit Shetty is now available on OTT. The film, which hit cinemas during Diwali on November 1, 2024, recently debuted on Amazon Prime Video on December 13, 2024. However, unlike many titles included in the platform’s subscription, Singham Again has been listed as a pay-per-view option, with a rental fee of Rs. 199.
