About Pushpa 2: The Rule
‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, is the second instalment to the blockbuster film ‘Pushpa The Rise.’ Directed by Sukumar, the action entertainer showcases the rise of red sanders smuggler Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun) to power and how he navigated life. The film is expected to be more intense and higher on action and the film has been tipped as the ‘most-anticipated’ one, especially after Allu Arjun won National Award for ‘Best Actor’ in Pushpa The Rise.
The first half of Pushpa 2: The Rule sees Allu Arjun in his element. Displaying raw and vintage version of Pushpa Raj, the actor steals the show. Sukumar brings the film to life with his writing prowess. While Pushpa: The Rise is about how an underdog red sander Pushpa rose to power, the second instalment, The Rule, showcases how he navigated through life using his power and influence. It may not be challenging for Sukumar to expand the story and spend time on setting up Pushpa’s character as a power house. But what’s truly challenging is bringing out the same character and story backdrop with the same level of intensity and conviction. And Sukumar wins brownie points as he gets into the thick of things quickly.
Action sequences are ok but what stole the show is the set-up and the aura that’s around Pushpa’s universe. The romantic track between Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna serves its purpose and is an interesting subplot.
Allu Arjun’s introduction is fabulous. The way he carries his attitude as Pushpa Raj is effortless. The film also quickly gets into the core plot – the battle for supremacy between Allu Arjun and Fahad Fasil.
The interval bang nicely sets up the things for thr second half – face okk between Allu Arjun and Fahaad Fasil.
